Description

About Kisspeptin

Kisspeptin-10 is the smallest biologically active fragment of kisspeptin, a neuropeptide encoded by the KISS1 gene and an endogenous agonist at the kisspeptin receptor (KISS1R/GPR54). It has a molecular formula of C63H83N17O14 and a molecular weight of 1302.44 g/mol.

Kisspeptin is studied extensively in in vitro preclinical research for its role in KISS1R-mediated neuroendocrine signalling, particularly in models of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis regulation. Studies have characterised its receptor binding kinetics and downstream signalling cascades, including GnRH pulsatility models. It is a key research tool in reproductive neuroendocrinology.
