Description
About Thymosin Alpha-1
Thymosin Alpha-1 is a 28-amino acid peptide derived from prothymosin alpha, originally isolated from thymic tissue. It is N-terminally acetylated and has a molecular formula of C129H215N33O55 with a molecular weight of 3108.27 g/mol.
Thymosin Alpha-1 is used in in vitro preclinical research investigating Toll-like receptor (TLR) signalling and innate immune pathway modulation. Studies have examined its interactions with TLR-2, TLR-4, and TLR-9 pathways in dendritic cell and macrophage culture models, as well as its effects on cytokine production profiles. It is a well-characterised immunomodulatory research peptide.
